Marion and her partner, Yaz the Guide Dog!

Yaz is a 10 year old Golden Retriever. He helps Marion to do lot of things. He works as her guide dog and helps her to walk to the shops, to get on the bus and helps her to get around, avoiding any danger. He gets treats when he does something right. Marion also uses a mobility cane to show her when there are things in her way that she needs to avoid on her path. It is also helps Marion when letters are raised on paper, so that she can read things with her eyes instead of her eyes.

Dina Schools

This week Wally came to visit our classroom and told us about how he was frustrated on Friday at golden time, because he had nobody to play with. He took 3 feel breaths to keep himself calm but he was still feeling lonely. So then he thought very hard and decided he would ask the others if he could play with them. He was very happy to join in with the others in their game. In our class we did role plays to act out what happened to Wally and the children in our class were very good at letting Wally play. We like to include people in our class and make sure that nobody is left out at games and on yard.

Hurling

We love doing hurling each week with Kevin, our hurling coach. We learn new skills each week and play a game before we finish up, go practise our new skills!

Mindful Movements

We have been very lucky in our school to be learning about Mindfulness this year. We are working on our mind-up lessons each week and practising our mindful brain breaks each day. To help us to become even more mindful, we are now doing Mindful Movements with Michelle! Look at the pictures below to see how mindful we are becoming!

Attendance Awards 2016-2017

We try really hard in our class to attend school each day and some of the children in our class even earned awards this week for excellent attendance. Bronze awards were given to the children in our class who have not missed ANY day for the whole first term!! Well done to everyone for always trying to come to school everyday on time!

Santa Claus Came to Visit

We had a very special visitor to our school before Christmas - Santa Claus! We came to see us with his jolly elf, Jingle Bells! They were very kind to us and we talked about all the things we've been doing at home and in school to be on his nice list! Santa even gave us a special chocolately treat before he left!

Our School Crib

In our class, we have been busy preparing for the arrival of the Baby Jesus on Christmas Day. We been learning all about the first nativity and even visited the crib in our local church in the Good Shepherd Parish. We also visited our own school crib, as seen in the picture below!
