Learning about Spain
We have been very lucky to have 2 Spanish students working with our class, helping us with our work and teaching us about Spain! Andrea and Angela taught us all about the country of Spain and even showed us how to do 2 traditional Spanish dances - the Cha Cha and the Macarena! Here we are practising our moves!
World Book Day
We had great fun dressing up as our favourite storybook characters for World Book Day! We also loved listening to and reading other children's favourite stories too!
Hurling
The boys and girls are having great fun learning new skills in hurling with Gerry! They have been practising really hard and am improving each week!
Wally & Tiny Turtle
Wally brought a friend with him to our school today - Tiny Turtle! He's been teaching us all about how to keep calm when we get frustrated. He teaches us that we should take 3 deep breaths and imagine our happy place when we take some time out in our shell!
Pancake Tuesday
We celebrated Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Tuesday, in our class by making delicious pancakes! We mixed milk, eggs and flour to make the batter and when the pancakes were ready, we added lots of delicious healthy and tasty toppings!
Attendance Awards
Well done to all the children in our class who got bronze attendance awards for attending school every day in term 1!
Learning about Poland
The children have been learning all about Poland for the International Festival we are having, to work towards getting our Yellow Flag! Some of the parents very generously gave their time to teach the children songs, poems and dances and read traditional Polish stories to the children.
