10 at 10 for Operation Transformation
Today we had great fun celebrating '10 at 10' for Operation Transformation! All of the children in the school took part in activities such as hip-hop dancing, skipping, jogging, soccer, Irish dancing and lots of other fun exercises! We spent our 10 minutes exercising in the Jungle Gym! Look at all of the energy we used and the fun we had! We were very sweaty and hot after and we were very happy too!

Dina Schools
This week Wally came to visit our classroom and told us about how he was frustrated on Friday at golden time, because he had nobody to play with. He took 3 feel breaths to keep himself calm but he was still feeling lonely. So then he thought very hard and decided he would ask the others if he could play with them. He was very happy to join in with the others in their game. In our class we did role plays to act out what happened to Wally and the children in our class were very good at letting Wally play. We like to include people in our class and make sure that nobody is left out at games and on yard.

Mindful Movements
We have been very lucky in our school to be learning about Mindfulness this year. We are working on our mind-up lessons each week and practising our mindful brain breaks each day. To help us to become even more mindful, we are now doing Mindful Movements with Michelle! Look at the pictures below to see how mindful we are becoming!

We try really hard in our class to attend school each day and some of the children in our class even earned awards this week for excellent attendance. Bronze awards were given to the children in our class who have not missed ANY day for the whole first term!! Well done to everyone for always trying to come to school everyday on time!

Exploration Dome - Galway Science Week
Last week, some of the classes in our school were very lucky to participate in the Exploration Dome, as part of Galway Science Week. First we had a little introduction, where we learned about all of the planets and constellations (groups of stars) in the solar system. We learned about what the stars are used for and how to find the North Star. We asked lots of questions and answered some questions that Mike, the presenter, asked us. We then watched a show based on the solar system and weather patterns and it gave us a great idea of what life might be like on other planets in a very real 3D way!
