Frogs!

We have seen huge changes in the frogs in our classroom! First they were eggs, before they changed into tadpoles. Then, they changed into froglets with tails and they grew legs! Finally, they transformed into frogs! We feed them everyday and watch them as they grow and change! Soon we will release them back into the wild, where they belong!

Our chicks have grown

We said goodbye to our chicks today and Farmer Gerard came to our classroom to show us a hen from his farm that is almost ready to lay her own eggs. We were sad to say goodbye to the chicks bit we are happy that the chicks are returning to see their families again and will have lots more space to run around and grow in.

Growing Things

Our class have been having lots of fun carrying out Science experiments! We learned that plants need 3 things to grow - water, heat and soil

We carried out an experiment using green food colouring, water and a stick of celery. We noticed that when the celery was put into the food colouring, the little tubes inside the celery started to change colour and they turned darker green! We learned that the water travels up the plant to feed all parts of it!

We carried out this experiment again, this time using red food colouring and it was much more clear to see! The celery plant and leaves at the top of the plant started to turn red - the water had travelled all the way to the top to help it to grow!
