Artwork with the Older Children

We were very lucky this week to have gotten help from one of the older children, to make hedgehogs. We have been learning all about autumn and about how hedgehogs protect themselves against predators in nature.

Learning in Literacy

In our classroom we love to learn to read and write new words. We have been learning about different word families and we make lots of different real words and sometimes even nonsense words! We use the lovely resources in our class like magnetic letters and this week we filled our tree on the board with lots of word apples! 

Cee Cee the rabbit

There was a big surprise today in our classroom! We had a surprise visitor! Cee Cee the rabbit is coming to stay in our classroom this week and we will be learning about how to care for her! We will feed her and give her water and make sure to keep her hutch clean and dry!

Modelling good working position

In our class we always try to do our best work! Before we start any of our written work, we say a little rhyme together - 'Feet on the floor, chair pushed in, now I'm ready to write'. This reminds us to have a good sitting position before we try to do our best written work!

Weekly awards

Every week we celebrate the children's achievements at school during our weekly assembly. We give awards to children for good behaviour and good work, acts of kindness and for obair mhaith sa ghaeilge!

Well done to the 3 children this week who won these awards! 

First Day in Senior Infants

We all woke with excitement this morning, eager to get to school, to see our friends and teachers, in our first day in Senior Infants!

Attendance Awards

Well done to the boys and girls in our class who earned bronze awards for full attendance for this term, silver awards for full attendance for 2 terms and congratulations to the winner of the gold award for full attendance for the entire school year!
